Our meetings

Since 2002, the Hawaiʻi Angels have brought together a cross-section of Hawaiʻi investors, founders, and successful professionals to exchange fresh ideas from Hawaiʻi and beyond.

  • 10+ lunch meetings a year, usually at The Pacific Club in Honolulu

  • Networking with a cross-section of ~50 public and private figures in the Hawaiʻi startup and business ecosystems

  • 1–2 pre-screened private investment opportunities are pitched at each meeting, plus occasional "Angels Pitching Angels" and “VC Sidecar” side deals

  • An opportunity to support local entrepreneurship (as Hawaiʻi Angels money is sometimes the first investor check a local startup receives)

Whether investing or innovating, our community offers a welcoming space to share knowledge, build networks, and explore opportunities together.

Member Meeting

Once a month, our full membership gathers in person at the Pacific Club in Honolulu to see presentations from two companies our Screening Committee selected, in addition to occasional intros to sidecar opportunities from our members' personal or VC-firm dealflow. After the presentations, we discuss and collect interest from members for further due diligence.

Follow-up

We assign one of our members to be a Deal Honcho for each startup that successfully garners member investment interest. The Deal Honcho works with the founders to assemble due diligence information, and then organizes a Zoom-based follow-up meeting (typically a week later) for the interested members and the founder to discuss. Following this process, founders and members can engage privately to discuss investment.
